February Recap

February was rough. This is not something I was excited to write about as we had a major setback, but here it is. My husband still wasn't working full weeks, we had several large expenses come up, including $400 in glasses for me because the dog knocked my only pair off my face and we lost them in the slow lmfao. We did not make any progress this month...we actually spent more than we paid so that wasn't great. We also got a couple new cards this month. We got a joint Forum credit card and used it to balance transfer my Discover card and his Quicksilver card. The Forum card has an intro 3% interest rate for a year and then after that it goes up to 11% which is tremendously better than the 20+% we were paying on the other cards. It sucks that we got set so far back this month it feels like, but we are early in the journey and this takes time. Give yourself grace...I'm trying to do that for myself.

Credit Cards February March
X5 493 242
Verizon 0 580
Capitol One 180 192
Quicksilver 1750 82
Brightway 64 63
Discover 12679 633
Care Credit 886 826
Avant 268 165
Tires 802 721
Home Depot 0 224
Credit One 180 375
Forum 0 15137
Total 17302 19240

Our credit cards went up by almost two thousand dollars total this month which sucks, but we didn't do any frivolous spending. We had a lot come up this month and few hours of work between us overall. My husband got some tools he needs to do side jobs and we are getting ourselves situated to do better and better overall.

Loans February March
Becca's Car 18683 18487
Mikey's Truck 37319 36956
Personal 6579 6579
Total 62581 62021

Mikey's truck actually went down significantly this month for some reason when it didn't last month and I don't really know why. I don't really know what the difference is but thankfully we see a difference this month. He was feeling really discouraged about it last month. My car payment is just chugging away. I don't have the worst interest rate but not the best either. My personal loan is just slightly higher than my car so as far as my two my personal loan will be the higher priority to pay off, but his truck needs refinanced or something first because it is at a 20% interest rate which makes it worse than a couple of our credit cards.

Savings/Investments February March
Sofi 2401 1973
Stash 1771 1865
Treasury Direct 862 864
TSP 1796 1749
Total 6831 6452

My investments are interesting this month. Sofi has gone down because I use that savings account primarily to pay for my DUI lawyer right now so $500 comes out of it every month for that for a little while longer. That is actually almost paid now (4 more ish months to go). My Stash investments went up by about $90 which I think is pretty good since there has only been about $35 put into it this month. Treasury Direct I expect to grow really slowly because its just I-bonds and they are low value bonds as well. I was surprised to see my TSP drop honestly but I know it will go back up over time. Really I am not putting any money into investments right now because I am busy trying to deal with the credit cards and debts, but I can't wait to stop paying interest on things that way we can start supercharging the investments.
